What began as an innocent night of snorting horse tranquilzers in a hotel room with seven members of the village jai alai team went on to produce a great metal band. Unhampered by a steady regime of tequila and ill advised sumo lessons, nine months later five bastard children where born. Unable to care for her hungry offspring and concerned that motherhood would seriously interfere with her Tuesday night Karaoke league, Consuela hastily packed the babies into the saddlebags of a burro and sent her children off to America in search of a better life. Against all odds, 14 years later, and nearly dead from dehydration, the burro knelt down to drink from the stagnant waters of the Rio Grande just ouside of Juarez Mexico –mere yards from the U.S. border. With one fleeting burst of energy the brothers Espinoza cinco climbed from their leather restraints and scampered the vast reach of the river, collapsing onto the sweet amber hue of American soil. As if by destiny, lodged in the sand beneath their tanned faces was a record sleeve upon which were the words “Paranoid” and “Black Sabbath.” For many years to follow, this definitive black metal album served not only as a teacher and a mentor..but also as a friend. From these bleak and humble beginnings grew the seed that would eventually be the band we know today as Metalachi. Submissions are accepted at MicDropMedia.me – the deadline to submit is two weeks before the event. It’s not a contest, so there are no entry fees or judges, it’s a curated showcase of 10-11 artists with a host. Each artist performs 2 original songs and can have any number of accompanying musicians they want. Bo Napoleonw/ Special Guests Genre: Island Reggae Music142 Pacific Coast Hwy,Hermosa Beach, CA 9025421+ Only About the Artist Born and raised in Carson, California to Hawaiian parents and into a musical family, Bo Napoleon has been a committed musician since the age of 9 when his dad, Kevin “Nappy” Napoleon, first handed him a Ukulele. At age 11, he started mastering the guitar and composing original material which continued throughout his teenage years. Following in his father’s footsteps as a singer songwriter in the Reggae Island genre, Bo’s success as a writer came quickly when he wrote two hit singles for the Common Kings, “Wade In The Water” and “Alcoholic”. A frequent collaborator with the group, another single penned by Bo called “Take Her” appeared on Common Kings’ Grammy nominated album “Lost In Paradise”. Subsequent to the success of “Wade In The Water” and “Alcoholic”, Bo independently released his first single “Another Rainbow” and was immediately embraced by Hawaii’s Reggae radio stations. With the radio success of “Another Rainbow” two more singles quickly followed at the request of the radio stations, “Born and Raised” and “Rastaman, which also celebrated the same success. Bo’s biggest hit to date was yet to come with the release of “If That’s Okay”. Released in Hawaii, “If That’s Ok” had remarkable commercial success with the support of 98.5, iheartmedia’s Reggae and Contemporary Hit station, and quickly crossed over to Top 40 Mainstream. Jamie Hyatt, Sr. VP of Programming/Honolulu at iHearMedia is quoted as saying “the song transcends format boundaries; #1 test all media research, #1 single sales, #1 Shazam”. With his success as an artist, much of Bo’s recent attention has gone to his songwriting. Together with frequent collabortaors Chaz Toney, DJ Irey and Juan Rios, Bo has worked on projects with Wash House Music, Common Kings, Pia Mia, Finn Gruva, Canaan Ene, Tenelle, Eli-Mac and The March to name a few.
