Songwriter Showcase The Songwriter Showcase at Saint Rocke, which is held the last Wednesday of every month. Submissions are accepted at MicDropMedia.me – the deadline to submit is two weeks before the event. It’s not a contest, so there are no entry fees or judges, it’s a curated showcase of 10-11 artists with a host. Each artist performs 2 original songs and can have any number of accompanying musicians they want. This is not a typical tribute band. Wild Child relies on recapturing the original: sound, feel, mood, dynamics and delivery of the Doors music. In true Doors fashion there are no: wigs, props, costumes, or phony banter between song. It’s about the music and its delivery by top pro musicians and performers. This compact touring group has minimal technical requirements to make a big show. Fly in engagements are a snap. This four piece group has over two decades of world tour experience and always delivers! From 2010 to 2013, Wild Child lead singer Dave Brock fronted the touring act “Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of The Doors.” Being selected by these two Rock’n Roll Hall of Fame musicians was a huge honor for Dave. One Less Guest w/ Justine and Leo, Neu Mannas142 Pacific Coast Hwy,Hermosa Beach, CA 9025421+ OnlyAbout the ArtistComprised of powerhouse vocalist/violinist, Ren Howl, her husband Nick Howl (Guitar), and long-time friends Cody Thoreson (Drums), and Nick Glass (Bass), One Less Guest performs it’s own funky, genre-bending blend of music alongside unique cover renditions from artist’s past & present. The band formed in Duluth, Minnesota and is currently based in Anaheim, CA as of 2021.One Less Guest held its first formal rehearsal in August of 2018. The bandmates quickly grew both a rapport with each other and a following in the upper midwest. After squirreling away earnings from their first 200-ish shows together, One Less Guest was able to self-release their first album, Monochrome, in April 2020. It’s premiere coincided with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, but despite this, the debut release did well; finding its way to a double digit spot on the North American College & Community radio charts & receiving consistent airplay from radio stations across the United States/Canada. In the year following the album’s release, the band was presented with an opportunity to relocate to southern California. On May 20, 2021, they performed their Farewell Midwest show to a sold-out crowd and headed west. Since their move, One Less Guest has released another full-length record, an EP of their favorite covers & a collaborative single with Minneapolis-based group, Beneath Green, titled Hi-Beams. Hi-Beams & instrumental tracks from the band were used in the film The Pool Boy, which made it’s debut at the Gasparilla Film Festival in Tampa Bay earlier this year.You can find the band’s most recent studio album, Viewfinder, as well as the entire One Less Guest catalog on all major streaming platforms.
