Throughout his career, Sean has been the driving influence of 20 albums and over 1 million records sold. Sean started playing guitar at age 16 listening to Neil Young, Rolling Stones and Jackson Browne. Those influences mixed with his own poignant and timeless lyrics, a unique and striking voice and a mind for melodies led to songs like Little Silver Ring, Feel Us Shaking and Wild River. For many fans, these aren’t new songs or old songs, but anthems to their lives that represent the first time they met their wife or the joys of their times at college. The Samples are more than a band – they represent a culture of fans and music that go beyond who happens to be playing in the band at any given time. There have been many members of The Samples, but Sean Kelly has been the consistent factor throughout all of the changes. Sean’s journeys across America have taken place in rental cars, tour buses and pickup trucks that would have literally taken him to the moon and back over the last quarter of a century. The Spazmaticsw/ Special Guests142 Pacific Coast Hwy,Hermosa Beach, CA 9025421+ OnlyAbout the ArtistThe Spazmatics were born in the spring of 1983 when physics professor Kevin Stigwood of Alta Dena High in Thousand Oaks California, lost a debate over String Theory to an upstart pupil in front of the entire student body and faculty. As agreed to by both parties, the loser would have to do anything that the winner demanded, and the victorious prodigy demanded that Mr. Stigwood perform “She Blinded Me With Science” by Thomas Dolby during half-time at an upcoming state basketball championship game. Having no musical background and desperate to not go down in total humiliation, Professor Stigwood formed The Spazmatics by tapping the genius of electronics teacher Sydney Balderman (AKA “Syd Sonic”), who had achieved international acclaim in 1981 for his invention of “robot drums.” When Balderman (who was also the girls water polo coach at Alta Dena Middle School) explained that most of the music could be generated by computers, and that all he needed was a couple of decent musicians to complete The Spazmatics, Stigwood was ecstatic. To make The Spazmatics complete, Stigwood brought in his special needs brother Curtis on bass, and teacher’s assistant Rusty A. Woosmeir (AKA “The Raw”) on guitar.When The Spazmatics took center court that evening, members of the hip elite began heckling them with jibes of “geek” and “nerd,” while everyone else howled with laughter. But once they broke into the opening salvo of “Science,” the nonbelievers were stunned by the group’s authenticity of production, world class musicianship, and tight choreography. The Spazmatics performance came to a climax when Stigwood grabbed one of the cheerleaders and began doing the “Belinda” up and down the court with her in tow. Joker’s Hand EP Release Partyw/ Carry The Day & Xtine and the Reckless Hearts142 Pacific Coast Hwy,Hermosa Beach, CA 9025421+ OnlyAbout the Artist Formed in 2017 by Kevin Kawano and Matt Lau, Joker’s Hand has catapulted themselves above the noise floor of the Los Angeles music scene with their explosive live performances. Kawano and Lau, both first generation Asian Americans, seamlessly fuse together punk, alternative and hip hop to create a fresh sound that reaches across the generational divide. Joker’s Hand released their self-titled EP in March, 2020. Their first single “Gold Rush” landed them #1 on KROQ’s Locals Only for nine weeks. While the pandemic put a wrinkle in the bands touring plans, they went back into the studio with producer Steve Ornest and turned out their second EP “All-American Rage”. “War Profiteer”, an upbeat track with a dark message about those who profit from war, spent several weeks on the charts. As the world reopened its stages, Joker’s Hand toured nationally and shared the stage with artists such as Cage the Elephant, Jane’s Addiction, The Aquadolls, Sitting on Stacey, Jakob Nowell, and many others. Their showcase performance at SXSW in 2022 was a turning point, as the band was signed to Wiretap Records by Rob Castellon. With a degree in musical theater, an early album of jazz classic covers, her move to Los Angeles from Oklahoma brought the kind of opportunities she wanted. She fronted several bands, playing all the Los Angeles venues you can name from the Viper Room, the Mint, House of Blues, and dozens of others. Meanwhile, as a vocal coach she has helped shape the vocal progression of many voice students who thrive on her engaged and unique take on vocal performance. As a songwriter it has been a journey, leaning on hundreds of cover songs over the years, helping hone her own song construction talent. She took 23 of her favorite demos into the studio and came away with 11 unique and beautiful tracks. Upon hearing the demos, some extraordinary artists agreed to play on the record with her and here we are.
