Juliette Lewis & The Licks

Written by Jess Etter

On the night of February 29, 2024. Juliette Lewis & The Licks were set to take the stage, promising an evening of raw, unadulterated rock ‘n’ roll. As I stepped into the venue, I could feel the excitement in the air, a shared anticipation throughout the room.

As the band launched into their first song, a surge of electricity coursed through the crowd. Juliette’s vocals were a revelation, ranging from sultry whispers to primal screams, each note dripping with emotion and conviction. Backed by The Licks, a group of supremely talented musicians, she led us on a musical journey! There were no barriers between artist and audience, just a shared love for the music and the catharsis it brought.

The stage was set, waiting for the performers to breathe life into it. And then, there she was, Juliette Lewis herself, a force of nature in her own right. With her unmistakable presence and boundless charisma, she commanded the attention of every soul in the room from the moment she stepped into the spotlight.

The setlist was a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows, each song a testament to Juliette’s versatility as a performer. From the anthemic “Hot Kiss” to the soul-stirring “You’re Speaking My Language,” every track resonated with a primal energy that was impossible to ignore.

As the final chords faded into the night, I found myself reluctant to leave, clinging to the fading echoes of the music. Juliette Lewis & The Licks had given us more than just a concert – they had given us an experience, a fleeting glimpse into the power of music to unite and uplift. And as I made my way home, heart still pounding with the rhythm of the night, I knew that this was a performance I would never forget.
