Thursday, May 2nd — The Samples delivered a killer set at Saint Rocke. The pre-party show, which was right before Hermosa Beach’s unforgettable BeachLife festival, had fans of all ages and walks of life rocking to classic reggae vibes. The good vibes that echoed throughout the venue drew in a diverse crowd of supporters who sang along to each word they uttered. The crowd was there from start to finish, clinging to every second of the set.
The Samples have played our legendary venue once before, but long ago when it was a picture house. They reminisced on their debut at the Saint Rocke throughout their set, pulling patrons into a blast from the past.
The Samples’ music is fun and timeless. They took me back to a simpler time through Bass lines that highlighted the reggae feel good vibe of the afternoon.
The band’s lead singer, Sean Kelly, even interacted with the audience throughout the show. He even used flash lights to single out fans in the crowd, encouraging them to sing their hearts out to the lyrics they knew verbatim. His jokester tendency and feel-good memories captivated the audience and deepened the layer of connect supporters felt for the band.
The end of the night was filled with uproars for an encore. With the crowd cheering for one more song to keep the good vibes going long after the band left the stage. Their cheers were met with an energetic return to the stage from The Samples who delivered an electric, high-energy encore.
