Fishbone : Celebrating 25 groundbreaking years, FISHBONE has been trailblazing their way through the history of American Ska, Rock Fusion and (so-called) Black Rock since starting their professional career in Los Angeles burgeoning, Alternative Rock music scene of the mid-1980s. Their sound has often been imitated, but never duplicated. They have toured worldwide with such bands as the Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Roots, Les Claypool/Primus, Fela Kuti, The Dead Kennedys and many more. Angelo Moore’s ability to combine thought-provoking, humorous social commentary with FISHBONE’s brethren’s frenzied, up-tempo music and frantic, euphorically entertaining stage show has cultivated their undisputed reputation as one of the best live acts in music history. Now in their 25th year of composing, creating, recording, releasing and performing original music together, mass critical appeal appears to be returning to the band, fueled by their critically acclaimed full-length feature documentary; Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone. Narrated by Laurence Fishburne, the film earned LA Weekly’s Critic’s Choice Award at the Los Angeles Film Fest in 2010, has been called “effortlessly Entertaining” (Variety), “Brilliant and Groundbreaking” (Pop Matters), and hailed as “more than a documentary about rock ‘n’ roll. It’s a documentary about the American spirit and one that shows the life of one of its most influential creative forces.” (Encore Magazine) The documentary features celebrity testimonials from an A-list cast of rock icons such as Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), who calls the band “an important musical institution” and “the band that gave us the inspiration to be a band” by Gwen Stefani (No Doubt). The film also includes similar admiration from the likes of Perry Farrell (Jane’s Addition), Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains) Rob Trujillo (Metallica), Questlove (The Roots), Chuck D (Public Enemy), Tim Robbins (Grammy Winning Actor) and many more. The film not only highlights the bands substantial legacy in contemporary music of all forms, but also the struggles, adversity, and inner turmoil that has surrounded the bands career. It has also opened up the possibility of, and widely rumored and sought after reunion performance with all original members of this legendary band. Everyday Sunshine is currently premiering in theaters across the country, and many of the dates have already sold out. DVD release and broadcast interest from VH1, Showtime, and PBS is expected in 2012. To date, FISHBONE still continues to tour all over the world, still turning heads at some of the world’s most noteworthy festivals such as Fuji Rock Festival in Tokyo, Japan (2010), Wakarusa in Ozark, AK (2010), Sunset Junction in Los Angeles, CA (2010) and Voodoo Festival in New Orleans, LA (2011). This year, the band recently completed a national U.S. tour with Slightly Stoopid and Dumpstaphunk; and a sold-out SXSW showcase with Wu-Tang Clan and Mobb Deep. In addition, the band recently completed an Australian tour featuring performances with Trombone Shorty and George Clinton, highlighted by a performance at Byron Bay Blues Festival. This summer the band toured all over Europe and Japan and currently on tour in support of their highly anticipated new EP Crazy Glue (DC-Jam Records) released October 11, 2011. Crazy Glue is currently available online everywhere and select retail stores nationwide.

UpRooted : In a simpler time, before Facebook, Twitter and cell phones, five special newborns were shat from their mother’s wombs with a force and fury greater then any womb has ever seen. Stampeding through the cervix upon regal chariots and majestic white steeds, these children quickly developed into adulthood where they finally realized their divine purpose. To draw influence from reggae, rock, and hip-hop to create a new sound. Banded together throughout their journey to find this one of a kind sound, they resolved to simply refer to themselves as “UpRooted,” and made it their goal to melt faces across the United States. After their official formation in 2009, UpRooted has quickly broadened their fan base all throughout Los Angeles, San Diego, and parts of Northern California. Their live show brings an infectious energy that is unmatched while performing a dynamic set that’s sure to get their crowd singing and dancing along! While bound by a love of music, friendship and unity is UpRooted’s driving force and source of inspiration. The band’s front men, Casey Goode and Jonathan Lane, compose vocal melodies and rap verses that reflect a lyrical and rhythmic technicality unique to traditional reggae and hip-hop acts. Lead Guitarist, Eric Montgomery, masterfully layers thematically ingenious rifts, contributing a caliber of musicality that would be impressive to any listener while Tim Lawrence lays down tasty bass lines, ranging from smooth to slap. In 2011, former lead vocalist of the “Natives of a New Dawn,” Tony Nouhan, joined UpRooted on the drums, taking the band to a whole other level. Today, it seems that skies are the limit for UpRooted as they continue to grow their fan base by the day. Their first EP, recorded at the Den Recorders in Pasadena, CA, officially releases on iTunes in July of 2011 and is expected to be very well received. They can be seen performing at a variety of venues in Los Angeles and up and down the beautiful California coast. While they were born and raised in California’s San Fernando Valley (except for Tony…he was born in Michigan and consequently ruined the little “theme” they had going), they have love in their hearts for the entire world and hope to circulate their sound to listeners everywhere!

Flowbis : Every once in a while a band with a unique vision based on influences, growth, and perseverance steps forward into the spotlight with such poise and energy that they will not remain unnoticed for long.   FLOWBIS, and L.A. based entourage of musicians who share and possess the skill and influence to successfully blend the true feel of 70′s funk/hip-hop with a vibrant, future-rock edge is the band that fully encompasses that new vision and talent. Reigning from Hermosa Beach, CA. FLOWBIS has performed up and down the California coast and time and time again has blown the roof off of such well-known clubs as The Troubador, The Key Club, The House Of Blues, The Roxy, and many venues in their hometowns of the South Bay Los Angeles as well as Santa Barbara and Orange County. FLOWBIS has made a steady impact on fans while the band and it’s individual members have shared the stage with influential acts/musicians such as Fishbone, Mike Clark (Suicidal Tendencies), Banyan and Hellride (Mike Watt, Stephen Perkins), Peter DiStefano (Porno For Pyros), Slightly Stoopid, Igloo and Hartly, Infectious Grooves and Coolio. With their first full-length independent release due in 2012, FLOWBIS plans to tour the U.S., Europe, and Latin America to support their work, rock the world, and give back some love to the people.
